Just an idea: whenever the site/tab with infect is open and user starts typing anything, the focus should automatically be on the filter field, so you don't have to click on the field first and then start typing in order to set filters. Together with the already implemented possibility to select the filter's suggestions by using the keyboard arrows this would enable a complete and easy keyboard control.
