Seems to hang Pidgin on Windows 8 Developer preview x64 (build 8102) #264

What steps will reproduce the problem?
(Please state what you did, what you are expecting to happen, and what
actually happens)
1.  Launch Pidgin and sign in

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Pidgin should run normally, instead it hangs intermittently, whether or not 
music is playing.

What version of musictracker are you using? What version of pidgin are you
using? On what operating system?
4.22, Windows 8 x64 (b8102)

What media player are you using?
Spotify

What IM protocol(s) are you using?
AIM, Gtalk, MSN, Yahoo, Facebook
