Unable to add more types of similar item? #3

I am someone who actually cooks often, and I do my grocery runs everyday. I can't seem to add new items into the fridge with the same name? Although it just says meat here. It's not like I will normally label meat #1, meat #2, meat #3 just to store it inside my fridge. Especially when buying new food items, the expiry might actually be pushed by days, especially bread where the expiry moves one day back every next day you purchase from your local marts. And if someone should buy the same bread for a week, they are not allowed to store it in the fridge with different expiry dates?

The 'Original' Bug

[The team marked this bug as a duplicate of the following bug]

can't add the same food with different expiry date

image.png

I am unable to add a second burger with a different expiry date as the first burger As mentioned in the UG, FridgeFriend is an app for managing food in the fridge. It is highly likely that I store 2 burger in the fridge with different expiry dates. However, I am not allowed to add 2 burgers with different expiry dates.

Their Response to the 'Original' Bug

[This is the team's response to the above 'original' bug]

This is the intended behaviour of the product. User can easily rename to "burger2" or "burger from mcdonalds" instead to differentiate the burgers.

 Issue response

Team chose [response.Rejected]

Reason for disagreement: As for my case, i want to put plain white bread, am i supposed to put, "Plain white bread 1" then "Plain white bread 2" it does not seem to make any sense at all. And asking us users to describe it, really doesn't seem to be any good of the app then.

If i finished my item and I want to update? Let's say I finish loaf 1 and today i buy loaf 2, I don't want to put the new loaf as loaf 2, as by the end of the year, i'll have loaf 365, and there's no way to update the expiry of the loaf, so I cannot add a new one also just because I named it as Plain white bread.

 Issue severity

Team chose [severity.Low] Originally [severity.Medium]

Reason for disagreement: This is a medium level issue as seen here...

Occasional inconvenience, I have to buy bread/vegetables/meat products daily, and if I have to keep adding numbers to it, why not the app just automatically do the labeling for me? I have to keep getting rejected by having the same name, then listing out the whole list to find what's my next recurring number so it does not clash and reject my input. It really inconveniences every day use of it,
