Possible fixes: Set the drive mode to single or deactivate silent shutter

petetum commented 6 years ago

App installs succesfully on a5100 fw version v3.10 I can open app and change settings. Once I hit START I get a black screen with the counter showing 0 then the camera reboots. Does it every time regardless if silent shutter enabled or disabled.

Timelapse function works fine of another app called: BetterManual by obs1dium

OK. Today I wanted to have a look again and try to find something usable info about the issue. BUT.. the issue has gone. I've done nothing to the camera and now the timelapse app works.. ..sort of fine.

It takes photos as it should so it's good but the silent shutter option cannot be changed.

When I've tried it today the first time it made shutter sounds. At that time I did not try to change to silent I was happy it works. But later today I tried it again and it was on silent. I wanted to remove tick from silent but it makes no difference now all pictures are taken in silent mode. If I exit the app and re launch it the tick is applied again.

So what I've done to the camera so the app works. Nothing deliberately. But there are a few thing I have done in between now and last time when it didn't work.

Installed the following on the camera:

That's everything. After I have discovered that the timelapse app works I wanted to recreate the issue to find out what have made it to work narrowing down the reason but even after resetting and initializing the camera the timelapse app still works. I was looking at refreshing the firmware to the same v3.10 but the updater doesn't let me and I couldn't find any info how to force the firmware update happen.

I know this thread is closed already I just wanted to share more info as there was not much here and wanted to fill the gap.
