Feature request: Support for Magellan Echo Watch? #112

Open Angf opened 10 years ago

Angf commented 10 years ago

Any plans to support this watch? It would be great to be able to see active Runnerup activity on this watch. Cheers.

nebmo commented 10 years ago

I didn't find any useful information on their website but I sent them an email. So maybe I will add support for it if it is not too complicated

nebmo commented 10 years ago

Got no response. What do we have to do?

dhiltonp commented 10 years ago

Give them a couple more days? On Oct 25, 2014 1:13 PM, "Niklas Weidemann" notifications@github.com wrote:

On the site it look like this watch does not support android yet? It says "Android support coming soon" in the description. Maybe that's why they haven't gotten back to you?

nebmo commented 10 years ago

Ohh that explanes it

Angf commented 10 years ago

Android support was introduced a few months back. http://www.magellangps.com.au/echo

Magellan app on the Google Play Store (used for initial connection of watch to the phone): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.magellangps.echoutility&hl=en

After that, the fitness app of choice talks to the watch to pass down data, eg, Wahoo Fitness. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wahoofitness.fitness&hl=en

I know of one person who is using a Samsung S4 (4.4 KitKat) with this watch. I haven't got my watch yet, should be arriving this week.

Hopefully the Magellan guys will respond to your email soon. Cheers!

The North America page still says android is not supported. So hopefully it's just out of date. This watch looks really interesting I may have to get one too.

nebmo commented 10 years ago

I still dont understand what to do though... Do we have to call their api? i only find methods for save or get activity. What we want is to send some kind of notification right?

Hi guys, my watch arrived today and I can confirm that android is definitely supported.

I'm running 4.4.2 KitKat on my Samsung S4 and the watch connected to both the Magellan app, and also to Wahoo Fitness - displayed run stats, heartrate, pace, etc.

I got the sdk for it the other day but not much information or tutorials. Anyone want to do it?

nebmo commented 9 years ago

Send an email to weides@gmail.com and I'll give you sdk

akartmann commented 9 years ago

I'd like to work on the Magellan Echo integration, I've asked access to the SDK, still waiting an answer.

nebmo commented 9 years ago

I just sent the sdk to akartmann@kapit.fr. the attachments were big so not sure you are able to receive the email..

bogido commented 6 years ago

I'm interested in working on this feature. Can someone provide me with the Magellan's Echo sdk, please?
