Hi, if you know a non-Steam game that suffers of the redist package installers problem (Windows, or Linux/OSX), be sure I'll add support for it. Regards,
Every (?) GOG.com and Origin game. Couldn't your app search installers from the entire hard drive?
I found no redist package installers for GOG, Origin, Uplay games. That's why I don't really support them (but you still can add "Custom folders" outside of Steam games, it should work). The program simply searches files and folders patterns. In previous releases I forced users to scan Steam directories only, but the most recent releases let you choose custom folders everywhere you want. The detection technique doesn't change.
If you know a non-Steam game that suffers of the redist package installer problem, I'll need its name and the folders or files that we should remove; it would help me a lot. Thx.
Hotline Miami 2 on GOG. "__redist" folder contains over 100MB of unnecessary files.
This is a first non-Steam game I ever checked. I'm fairly sure that there are many more.
Thank you very much. I'll add the "__redist" (and some variants) folder to the pattern list. Release 2.4.1 comes asap.
Feature implemented (you can choose every folder you want). Is integrated to the upcoming 2.4.1 release.
Can you develop the program further to search for every installed game, not only Steam games?
