There was a branch by @raphaelpierquin where he worked on a way to sync all playgrounds to github. He worked on it quite a bit, but scraped the whole thing in the end. It would be interesting to hear his take on the subject.
My main issue with it was that it would have tied the code and thus the whole of Paysage to the GitHub proprietary API.
But apart from that, having every code object/creature mirrored in a code repo make sense, maybe more than saving them to a database.
At the end of a workshop, or something like that, It could be great to download result (compiled source code of each participants) or freeze it somewhere....
It's like save playground perhaps...
