There's a long section of black pipe currently on the side porch. Care should be taken to make sure it doesn't get bent.
This needs to be made into a curtain rod. The next step is to sand the rust off of it. This can be done with the orbital sander, by picking a small section to go back and forth on, and rolling the rod slowly around until that section is complete.
The black color does not have to be entirely removed, but the rust must be removed, and every inch of it needs to have had sandpaper over it.
The work could be done on the porch or outside the well shed, but either way it will probably have to be blown off periodically in the shed with the air hose, and then touch up work done on any remaining rust spots.
