Sand and seal the Deer Canyon Road sign #59

@BallerPaul sanded down the "Vance Circle Road" sign and put a clear polyurethane finish on it.

We need to do the same thing to the "Deer Canyon Road" sign.

  1. Take some needle nose pliers to remove the S-hooks it's hanging from.
  2. Remove it and bring it back to the shed. (((I, @jonathanstokes, would drive the tractor down there and put it gently in the bucket to carry it back, but Paul carried it like a 💪 man.)))
  3. Use the new orbital sander to sand all the old wood off of it. Be very careful on the small pieces, like the center of an "R".
  4. Apply polyurethane with instructions from @jonathanstokes or @BallerPaul.
  5. Replace the sign where it goes, clamping the S-hooks back in place.

Do the sunken parts of the letters still need to be painted black to match the other sign?

If so, we need to do that before the sanding. What I did was put clear packing tape in strips across all of the letters, then cut out the shape of each letter with a box blade or craft knife, and then spray paint black (2-3 coats), and then spray clear reflective paint. Then remove the tape and sand as described above.
