This brush growing next to the big Juniper near the well shed is coming out of the stump of a Texas Oak tree that fell over under its own weight. We do not want this tree, and we don't want the brush to keep coming back.
The brush can be removed with a chainsaw if you like, but we need to destroy the stump so the brush doesn't keep coming back. Two ways to do that:
Purchase some stump killer from a hardware store like Ace/Home Depot/Lowes/Tractor Supply, expense the material, and treat this stump. OR,
Burn the stump out. Because the stump is green, it will cause a bunch of smoke, but building a fire on top of it would get rid of the stump for good. See #86 for a possible overlap in jobs.
One way or another, we want to (a) try not to hurt the big Juniper near by, and (b) get rid of this brush and the stump under it.
