Get generateCandidates working #56

We can't even tell if VEP is working, since the callSampleSpecificVariants step is failing. It seems to be a problem with VariantTools, using BiocParallel:

Error: BiocParallel errors
  element index: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
  first error: cannot open the connection
