No applet icon in systray #97

The applet does not have an icon.

Archlinux community/cinnamon 3.2.1-4 community/cjs 3.2.0-2 community/muffin 3.2.0-1

Can you ensure you have feedparser installed?

Prerequisites

If not already installed by your distribution, install the python feedparser library. E.g. using pip:

sudo pip install feedparser

I have it installed, still no icon.

What Flavor / Version of Linux.

Version of Cinnamon?

You have it added to the panel?

Open the applet options and select the checkbox for additional logging information and then

lastly can you please open the glass.log and see if there is anything in there related.

cat ~/.cinnamon/glass.log

Ok, I finally got Arch Linux installed with Cinnamon desktop and after installing feedparser via pip it works as expected on Arch Linux. When I installed ArchLinux I did install both base and base-devel, could that be the difference?

Do you have other icons, ie, volume, notifications, time, on the main panel?

I had the same problem on 2 systems. Both Arch with cinnamon. Solution: create the file feeds.json in the applet directory (~/.local/share/cinnamon/applets/feeds@jonbrettdev.wordpress.com)
