Internal special keys help obsolete #868

Open Sethur opened 6 years ago

Sethur commented 6 years ago

It seems that at some point the internal special keys for e.g. changing the cycles/ms have been changed from CTRL+F11/F12 to F11+PLUS/MINUS

This is not reflected in the internal documentation, i.e. when typing INTRO => Special Keys.

It is stated in the initial blue info box as <host -> and <host +>, but on a non-English keyboard you have to dig quite a while to find out that the location of the plus and minus is to be interpreted as the location of those keys on a standard English keyboard.

I would propose updating the internal docs to reflect all the special key changes and updating the info box to display some like: To adjust emulated CPU speed, use host - and host + (US keyboard layout).

I see many problems with this:

I believe a small section in the README would be better such as:

Oh and yes, remove this Special Keys section as a result 😃

Would it be possible to have a line like "ClassicKeys=True" in the config file so that the traditional DOXBox keys work? F11+f for full-screen is much more fiddly to hit than Alt-Return for instance, though I have changed that via the mapper.
