unable to properly define start and end point in linear gradient #86

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Creating a linear gradient with start and end point not equal to the borders 
of the path to be filled.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
see attached image, to the right is expected (Firefox), to the left is what I 
see (IE8).

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
R3 on IE8 on Windows 7 N Professional
