However when the parent block is active the options ui for the child blocks are all show together

Oof this one looks a doozy. This field does very little other than simply render fields, might be a can of worms to begin overwriting focus states and etc. Of course, if anyone wants to look into a solution I'm always happy to review a PR.

FYI: I can no longer reproduce this issue. Not sure which Kirby update solved it.
