Release format concerns #15

A few users (mainly Linux users, although there may well be others) have
difficulties with opening files in the .rar format, so I am requesting on their
behalf that future versions be released in a different format, such as .zip

I think .zip would be the best choice for future releases. However, I suggest
we make sure they are NOT packed using WinZip, as later versions of WinZip are
worthless pieces of crap which have been known to produce .zip files which,
oddly enough, can't be opened in other programs.

Also, the mac/linux scripts aren't executable on unpack. This _might_ be
fixable with a different format.

yes there is no good reason to use rar at all, using normal zip is the best way
to go here, since theres only one release for both linux and win

probably best option would be to provide separate packages for different
platforms:
- Windows: Zip file with Windows libs and bat scripts
- Linux: tarball with Linux libs and sh scripts
- Mac OS X: application bundle packed inside dmg disk image

but this is some extra work to provide 3 packages for every release so it may
be not worth it yet, because current userbase is rather small.

Accepted. From 7.4.0 I use zip. Should we re-release 7.3.0 as zip format as
well?

Probably not worth it. Nobody's going to play 7.3.0 now anyway.
