in-world labels (like a panel) or GUI (subtitle) - with explanations, author... ? If this is a subtitle, this could be implemented with a special "Display Label on trigger" attached to a overall trigger volume. When a user comes inside, the subtitle is visible.

EveryOne should create his own cartel as Jonathan says Script "Display Label on trigger" attached to the trigger. Fill the form. Choose print duration (default 3sec.)

Ok. Could this be seen as a more generic feature of 'over the air data transmitting system', like RDS : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_Data_System ?

On the same idea than the Wireless Transmitter / receiver, this would be a wireless TEXT transmitter (and we would have the receiver as a tool/instrument). Text would be displayed at the bottom of the screen, maybe above a background image...

Can we find something more related to Bacon's text ? (and that is not an existing trademark TM :-) )

We created the component as "NAObjectLabel" with the following fields : Title, Author, Date, Synopsis and Instructions. You have to attach it to an object with a trigger collider so that the informations (Object Label, "cartel" in french) are displayed for 10s when a visitor comes inside.
