Redshift adjusts the color temperature of your screen according to your surroundings. This may help your eyes hurt less if you are working in front of the screen at night.
I used to have a haswell i5 4460 (intel hd graphics 4600) with 16gb ram, few days ago I added another 16 gb of ram and ever since then the kwin display flickered (same way as the other windows will darken when you focus on one). After turning of redshift everything works perfectly.
Kde/Plasma is the newest version from the arch depositories. I tried both with and without the unstable intel options (glamour...) and it made no difference. Neither did changing the amount of ram for the igpu in the bios.
