Redshift adjusts the color temperature of your screen according to your surroundings. This may help your eyes hurt less if you are working in front of the screen at night.

Describe the bug Multiple processes for Redshift are running in the background.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Install Redshift for the first time
  2. Launch Redshift
  3. Set Redshift to autostart from the system tray
  4. Reboot the device
  5. Open a system monitor program such as GNOME System Monitor
  6. Look for "redshift"
  7. See multiple processes for Redshift running

Expected behavior I think that there should be one or only a few processes running in the background.

Error output/logs/screenshots Screenshot of the multiple processes seen using GNOME System Monitor.

I'm on Ubuntu MATE 21.04 and the same thing happens. Does htop show other processes running in multiple?

SimonDedman commented 3 years ago

Same thing for xubuntu 21.04 after upgrade from 20.10. Only one instance in startup programs & in panel but 2 instances running, seemingly independently (I can disable/enable them independently in the panel). Closing one instance causes it to restart automatically.
