Here, we introduce the build/release cycle. There are a few components to this:
dev
During development, we expose a vagrant VM image. This bootstraps a generic workstation for gatekeeper. It isn't required for development, however.
./scripts/setup.sh - used to install godeps first and bootstrap the environment. This is used by both the local dev env, the VM and travis
./scripts/dev.sh - used to build either a.) plugins or b.) core. This symlinks the binaries into their respective homes in $GOPATH/bin as well
release
./scripts/release.sh is used to build a release. By passing a version in, we can build archive files with the various architectures we support (reference the file for more info). Once a release has been built we can upload it to a release.
Dockerfile is built by the docker index on git pushes. Specifically, this grabs the latest release and will download the archive, unarchive it and build a cleaned image.
