Terminal crashes when accessing the keyboard during edit of config

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. in terminal tap to bring up the menu
2. go to misc=>config
3. go to any option that requires the keyboard

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I want to be able to edit the config file without having terminal to crash. It 
crashes when the keyboard is shown

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
I am using the newest build of Terminal (Old), I have tried to edit the conig 
with an itouch 3G 64 gb on 3.1.3, 4.1, and 4.2.1 I also tried to with an itouch 
2G 8gb 3.1.3,4.1, and 4.2.1

Please provide any additional information below.

I dont use the Terminal(NEW) because it doesnt have the familiar GUI and when I 
try to save a shortcut, once I exit out of terminal (NEW) and go back into it 
my shortcuts arent saved, either way there is still a problem
