I haven't seen, or heard about any installation issues before this.

Looks like something is up with the /usr/local/ directory on your system.

What is the output of the following command in the Terminal?

ls -ld /usr/local

drwxr-xr-x 13 root wheel 442 Oct 26 21:23 /usr/local

Thanks for the quick reply. I hope this isn't something really stupid I did on
my
part.

OK, what about /usr/local/lib/?

ls -ld /usr/local/lib/

Is it a symbolic link? What does it point to? Does the target directory exist?
If not, just trying removing
/usr/local/lib/ and retry the install.

It seems that /usr/local/lib/ was a symbolic link to itself.

Somehow what should have been /usr/local/lib/ was renamed /usr/local/lib\ 1/ so
I
removed the symbolic link and renamed /usr/local/lib\ 1/ /usr/local/lib/.

Then ran the installer and it ran without a hitch and am currently running
things
and they work fine.

Thanks for the help!

OK, this wasn't a MacFUSE issue.
