Can you have unhinted release? #11

Hi, based on the discussion here:

Sarasa intensively uses TT hints to maximize clarity — so a badly implemented rasterizer may become slow when scaling them. Perhaps an unhinted edition in the future... · Issue #219 · be5invis/Sarasa-Gothic

I noticed that the hinted version is slow on my Code::Blocks IDE. While your released did solved the alignment issue ( CJK characters alignment issue in some applications jonz94/Sarasa-Gothic-Nerd-Fonts#1)

So, can you supply an unhinted version of your font?

Thanks.

Hi @asmwarrior,

I just made a testing version for the unhinted fonts. Here is the link to download the unhinted fonts for now: https://github.com/jonz94/test-unhinted-Sarasa-Gothic-Nerd-Fonts/releases/tag/v0.37.4-0

Could you help me to test it (when you have some free time, of course) if this unhinted version is suited your need? Thanks! 😊

Hi, @jonz94 thanks for supplying the unhinted fonts.

I downloaded the font, and it works fine.

However, compared with unhinted fonts with hinted fonts, the later one shows better.

For me, I currently use an old 0.8.2 version of Sarasa-Gothic, which is hinted version and shows fast. While I can't use the latest hinted Sarasa-Gothic version, because it renders slowly.

I'm not sure why. I have asked this here: question: font rendering speed different between sarasa-gothic-ttf-0.8.2 and the latest 0.37.4, but it looks like no one gives replies.

Thanks.
