The text file is not human editable as it contains many symbols that cannot be understood.

Since it is stored as ASCII plain text, would say it is editable as you can open the file and change data inside. For example, you can change the cough to something like "high fever" and it still remains valid. The explanation of the save file structure is not in scope.
