Live feed issues

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Try to open live radio or tv feed
2. I have tried changing between Akamai, and Limelight, rtmp/rtmpt
3. Pause playback (not only issue - see below)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
TV feed opens quite quickly but if I try and pause I cannot restart and XBMC 
stops responding
3. Radio feed takes a long time to start, once it does only plays for a few 
minutes and then stops. Same issue with pausing as live TV.

What version of the plugin are you using? On what OS?
This is on an IntelMac Mini running Mavericks.  I have a caching proxy (squid) 
and privoxy running.
Version 2.5.4 of the plugin, on XBMC v 12.3 Git:20131212-9ed3e58

Please provide any additional information below.

I am in the UK.  I can play live radio fine through browser. I can play catch 
up content OK.

The pause bug is an xbmc issue that is fixed for upcoming gotham release. Not 
plugin related.

There is also the issue I was having with radio only playing for a few minutes.
