Emphasis on the longterm label here. Once running, this really shouldn't drop off until after 3.x end of support.
WordPress is currently working on a similar campaign targeted toward their older PHP versions. Though they're using a highly different approach, I do feel like they have some ideas/concepts that would apply to our situation just the same as far as resources go and would encourage looking at their team meeting summaries as a starting point.
Draft of the CJO article can be found on : https://docs.google.com/a/community.joomla.org/document/d/1c30_viisZHp6TkEvM_qdnvmgq-x8RRUgNDgAX0iu6i0/edit?usp=sharing
@mbabker Could you please review it when you can? @mikeveeckmans I think we will publish it on jorg and not on cjo.
@Sandra97 do we have to publish anything else on this or we can close it?
looking at the usage statistics, I think it could be a good thing to do a reminder.
As mentioned in Looking Forward with Joomla! 4 , Joomla! 4 and Framework 2 will require PHP7.
We need a campaign to inform/prepare well our users as well as hosting companies about this requirement.
