The weblog craze started approximately around 1994; many of these original bloggers -- despite not having yet earned that title - were the same people who first understood the value of the World Wide Web in the 1980s. In the first half of the nineties, for example, there wasn’t a ton of online record-keeping, and most primitive blogs are either now archived or nowhere to be found.
There were a number of attempts at creating (we)blog software such as Open Diary, till around 1999 Blogger emerged later to be purchased by Google with Wordpress and TypePad being launched in 2003.
