Joomla would like to create some Good quality playlists on its official Youtube channels. These can be on various topics like

How do we determine that a video is good quality and can go in the playlist? do we have a set of rules? (understanding the English? only English? non commercial videos? only 3.7 or 3.3 and up or any other rule that will help us filter all the wonderful videos out there)

@shirdesign We dont have a set of rules as such yet. But would be good if you can help phrase them. Reg version .. Ideally only videos that have more 'life' are preferred. For instance if a feature was introduced in Joomla 3.3 but the video is about the feature in general, it will ideally be still relevant with 3.7. So that should be a good video..

I dont think language matters.. We can have all languages.. And make language specific playlists

ok. started working on the rules: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-vtQp-oVVmEtWRWyAG0hcJVnKBj6kH1b4oGUiQK0ZGA/edit not sure about linking to companies videos - on one hand they might be good quality tutorials on the other hand - how can you choose from all the different companies? I think we should use only Joomla events tutorials - and start making our own community ones? Maybe using hosting companies videos can be a solution - like https://www.cloudaccess.net/recorded-webinars/126-recorded-joomla-webinars.html? Do we have a policy about this kind of things?

also I've added a few playlist links to the doc that I've created - with playlist I think should be checked (a lot of them are not in English and I can't check myself)

Since its a playlist i think its ok to have videos from anywhere unless its some company violating GPL or something

how would we know that - we will have to then only link to videos from sources we know them personaly....

I think that should be fine.. Since over time we will have more people adding from multiple sources

We need some people they are going through Joomla Youtube and categorize the videos and compile them in a list. Our idea is to publish different lists on the Joomla Youtube Channel ( https://www.youtube.com/joomla ) . For example Tutorials for SEO or Pagespeed Optimizaion.

No progress about this task? I created som eplaylists and added few videos but I would appreciate if someone can take care of this task now and on a regular basis. It's an easy one and don't require much time per week.

I can do it on a regular basis. But need to understand better which videos can go in and which cann't since we dont want to promote private buisnesses.

It's up to you to determine which videos can interest our users. I confirm we are not here to promote private businesses, except maybe if they are Joomla partners/sponsors. First, you can make a selection of videos from JaB & JDays.

Work done at #JWC17 Joomla in Action: selecting among JDUK 17 & 16, JAB17 To avoid duplicate work, and to keep track of what videos have been watched already or not, I've added a sheet called "Sources". Regarding the Joomla training videos, in partnership with OS training that are posted here https://community.joomla.org/joomla-training.html Could we have some videos, at the least the first one of each lesson (usually Introduction), on YouTube ? Then we add the link to the full (free) lesson to j.org.

Looks really good Herve - Thank you for taking this assignment on yourself :) I will try to push some more source playlists and videos in and look into the names in the next few days as well.
