As mentiond within the Mattermost chat. The idea, back in the days was, when i remember correctly that every 4.x language pack can be installed within all 4.xer Versions of Joomla so the plan was not to remove language strings until we are at the next major? The same should be done within the core ofc, so originally the plan was to keep the old strings within the core too. While the strings are now removed from the core I could also follow the argument to remove them from our package too. Just wanted to raise that thought.
