This would be awesome
I studied chromecast JS lib some time ago, but it uses chrome internals nowadays and it was kind of a dead end.
Other alternatives include at least Jupii which would be an awesome starting point. It exposes DBus API for streaming into UPnP/DLNA devices

This would be a very nice feature, I might have a look at Jupii integration soon unless you do it first.
