joplin / plugin-email

This plugin adds the ability to fetch email messages and converts them to Joplin notes in various formats, either by monitoring any new or unread messages from a specific email address or a specific mailbox, or by uploading downloaded email messages to the plugin without having to be logged in.

Can not login ("Manually connect to IMAP"), the credentials are alright. Tryed another mail account without success. Joplin 2.9.17 / Windows 10 (same issue on my notebook with windows 11)

Hi What is your email provider, and what error message did you receive?

digi-tales commented 1 year ago

My email provider is domainfactory (https://www.df.eu, IMAP-Server: sslin.de. Port 993). The login wheel spins and spins ("Loading") without an error message. Same with another email provider(my own domain). The extension can login and then is something wrong. If I use the wrong password, I get an error message (Can´t login). (hope you understand, I am not used to write in english).

It seems you are using the wrong server name. I found imap configurations in "https://www.df.eu/" and what I found is that the imap server name is sslin.df.eu and not sslin.de as you mentioned. Check out this link.

Plus, there are different server names depending on the domain and different protocol numbers (993, 143) depending on whether the server allows encryption or not.

The server name and port are correct (see screenshot from the admin-panel). sslin.df.eu isn´t working too. Same problem, if I try connecting without TLS/SSL (imap.mydomain.de, Port 143). Screenshot 2023-02-05 075447

Hmmmmmmm 🤔, Unfortunately, I have not tested the imap configuration in the df.eu email provider; however, I have tested the majority of free email providers and my domain on "private email".

can upload email messages in eml format to the plugin link or use the Joplin Email Plugin in Thunderbird or can use an email from free email providers as a bridge between your email and Joplin.
