I have a Casio CTK-810 and I places the .plugin file in the
library/audio/midi drivers folder. I've tried this on both of my macs (os x
10.4.8) and nothing has happened. When I open Audio/Midi setup, it does not
see the new device. Please advise.

Did you try rebooting ? Some people commented on the wiki that it worked after
a reboot. There are also reports
that the CTK-810 should work with this driver.

What kind of macs do you have and how do you connect the keyboard to them ?

I tried rebooting & I still can't seem to get the midi driver to work. My
computer doesn't recognize the file as a
driver. It comes up as if it were a pc file. I have a Casio WK-3300 and a
Macbook w/ OS 10.4.11. Any ideas?

Did you try copying the file in your Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers and reboot
after that, as described on the main
page? Trying to open the file won't do anything.

Others managed to make it work with a WK-3300.

Sorry, forgot to add the word "folder" in the first sentence. It should read:

Did you try copying the file in your "Library/Audio/MIDI Drivers" folder and
reboot after that ?

You can either put it in your own Library folder, found in your home folder, or
the system's library, which is at
the root of your system's drive and will be available to other users of your
computer.

You are a genius. I ended up trashing the whole thing and downloading it
again. Then rebooted. And now it
works. Thanks!!!

The signal is coming in really low though. Do you know of a way to boost the
signal?

Had a casio CTK-551... restarted, etc, but no success. Running Mac 0.5.5 Intel
Core 2 Duo

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
The CTK-551 isn't a USB keyboard and this driver isn't meant for it.

Unfortunately, I cannot test it on Mac OS X 10.3, since I only have an Intel
Mac. Maybe someone else can help on
this.

i have a mac pro and am trying to hook up my Casio WK-1800 usb, and copied as
per instructed under
library\audio\midi drivers; it doesn't see the driver when i go into my midi
utility, nor does it recognize in the
system preferences audio. i went into Garage Band to see if it even sees the
midi driver, and sees nothing.

Does it matter which usb port I plug into? I tried both the front and the back
ports, to no avail. Any help would
be greatly appreciated. Have a safe and happy new Year.

Is your keyboard really a WK-1800? I looked online for its manual and it
doesn't seem to have an USB port, but
has MIDI ports. Are you using a MIDI to USB interface? If so, you will need a
driver from the interface
manufacturer.

Could it be a WK-3800, which has an USB interface? If so, maybe your keyboard
doesn't have the exact same
MIDI interface as the one I wrote this driver for. If you have the Developer
Tools installed (found on your Mac OS
X DVD) you can run "USB Prober" and see if your keyboard shows up and please
report the Manufacturer and
Product IDs. However, the WK-3800 is already reported to be working with the
driver.

I haven't quite sorted this issue out yet. I needed a larger size keyboard for
some piano playing/sequencing
as my little M-audio Oxygen 8 wouldn't cut it so, I borrowed my 8 year old
daughter's Casio CTK 720 and
downloaded this driver. I worked great ....the keyboard worked perfectly with
Ableton Live and I did the
necessary sequencing without a hitch. However, I noticed that My Oxygen 8
doesn't work at all. It powers up
but, the Mac refuses to recognize it or any messages it transmits. I
uninstalled and then re-installed the m-
audio drivers (the ones available from their website...most up to date and
Leopard compatible) to no avail. I
am gong to start fresh see what happens. I also have an Akai MPD 24, whose
functionality hasn't been
affected at all....I'll be uninstalling/re-installing the drivers for it as
well.

I have a casio lk 210. i downloaded your plugin and it appears in the midi
folder that it should be in. however
the driver doesn't seem to power up my usb casio to work for Reason 3.0. this
casio worked on my dell, but i use
the new MacBook now. Reason still won't recognize any midi controllers, and I
am getting a message from the
CoreMIDIServer.framework that it cannot execute the binary file.

please help!!!!!!! thanks =]

Just to make sure - did you unpack the downloaded file? The "cannot execute the
binary file" makes me think
you didn't, or the driver got corrupted somehow in the download process.

The Google Driver works perfectly with CASIO LK-41 Keyboard on Leopard 10.5.6.
Just
downloaded the zip and copied the plugin into the suggested folder.

Thank you google coders.

Is there any way to get the tones from the keyboard to play back on the
computer instead of back through the keyboard? I have only been able to
playback Software Instruments in Logic.

I am using a WK-3300 with a Mac 10.5.8. Any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks!

This can't be done with MIDI only, you need to use an audio capture interface,
like the line-in port on your computer.

... and I assume you worked out the issue you had in comments 23-24, good to
know the MIDI works!

Does an audio capture interface require the keyboard to have MIDI In/Out ports?
And yes, I figured it out - thanks for all of your help! Saved me a lot of
hassle.

No, but it needs a line-out. An headphones output works too. Try plugging a
cable (1/4" or 1/8" to 1/8") between the headphones jack of the keyboard to the
microphone input of your Mac, if you have one. On recent laptops with a dual
headphone/mic iPhone-style plug you might need some kind of Y-adapter.

I've a Privia PX-320 and a Mac Pro running OSX. I downloaded the driver and
dropped the .plugin file into my MIDI Driver folder and rebooted. Its still not
working. Hopefully I'm just missing something small because it would be nice to
plug and play quickly in Garage Band and Logic. Any advice???

Other users in the wiki reported it as working. Which version of the driver did
you try ? On OSX 10.5 or 10.6 ? Does it show in the Audio/MIDI Preferences ?

have ?
