After update v2.0.0. nas becomes unreachable #9

After the update to version v2.0.0 my synology nas became unreachable.

Looking into the NAS i noticed a lot of auth.cgi processes which came from Homey. The only app which uses synology is this app.

Disabling the app had no effect, the kept connecting, so much that the nas becomes fully unreachable, i had to reboot the nas to get back into it, after a while problem came back.

This same problem occurred about 1 year ago also on 1 of the first releases of this app.

I have this problem on last homey version 1.5.x

Hope this can be fixed very soon.

If you have "Polling" enabled under Settings -> Synology Surveillance Station (in Homey), this can happen, especially if the NAS or the connection to it is slow.

I assume you have this option turned on?

Hello Jordan

No, I haven't. Never activated this.

yep activated but i cannot turn it off.

When i turn it off and save it nothing happens. I wait and wait still saving etc.. When i choose and other option and back to this app it is still activated.

jordenc commented 5 years ago

@B3rt That's strange. Are you on Homey 2.0? I can turn it on and off without a problem on my iPhone. It shows "Saved" within a second.

B3rt commented 5 years ago

@jordenc I use still homey v1.5.3

jordenc commented 5 years ago

Do any errors show in the console of your browser, when you press the "Save" button?

B3rt commented 5 years ago

I reinstalled the app and it is disabled now. So i cannot tell if there where any errors.

Sadly the app is not usable anymore, it biggest advantage for me was to be able to email screenshots. As this part is fully removed from this app the app became useless for me.

It is suggested to use the token function instead, but that does not work at all, when i create 2 flows where in the first flow a screenshot using token is created and the second flow is triggerred when a token is made to email the token to me nothing happens. It seems no picture is taken or nothing is mailed.

I hope the screenshot mail function can be re-added so it is possible to mail a screenshot directly from the flowcard without using the token option in homey, this does not work at all.

Thx

The screenshot-to-mail function will not be readded. It should work with the email-sender-app. I will retest this when I have time.

I have the same issue. Homey 2.0.5 and since thw update of this app to v2.0.0 my NAS is running at 80% cpu. Yesterday I’ve changes d the password of my NAS account and the problem disappeared. Checking the logs of my NAS I saw that Homey was trying to connect every second.

Auth.cgi and Synocgid - D where the 2 processes that causes the high CPU. This is now gone.

I'm having the same issue. Was wondering why my NAS became unreachable. After a lot of trying and digging I found out there were massive amounts of connection requests from the Homey to my Syno. I guess it was overflowing memory or something like that

mauricesundermann commented 5 years ago

I was experiencing the same problem. Log files became to big because homey is logging in each second. Needed to reboot the NAS and deleted the app on homey. Hopefully there comes a fix for it.

Same problem here, I didn't know what was going on with my NAS becoming unreachable. I have contacted Synology about it. They also found an out of memory issue due to many auth.cgi requests.
