Decimal degrees in status bar #426

What should this feature enhancement do?

Some coding API option for decimal degrees in status bar, instead of
degree-minute-second coordinates.

Are there any known workarounds that produce the similar results?

Probably an Event listener method, but the result is out of the GE window.
Not satisfactory.

Just a note that this issue applies to the more general request for switching 
between any of the supported coordinate systems for display in status bar and 
grid overlay (MGRS, UTM, etc).

Subject : Show Lat/Long Grid in Decimal Degrees 
Description : When showing the lat/long grid using the function 
plugin.getOptions().showGridVisibilty(true), the lat/long information is 
displayed as default in Degrees, Minutes, Second format. I would like to set 
the format to decimal degrees, is there a way doing it?

Roger the above, I need to have the ability to change the ge plugin status bar 
to decimal degrees as well. Please let me know if anyone has links to code to 
overide the method as I will do it myself if Google does not ;)

I'd really like more control over the format in which degress are displayed.  
MGRS coordinates would also be helpful.

It would be great to have an update about the likeliness to have this feature 
released.
It is difficult to plan on an unknown.
