What should this feature enhancement do?

Add a new constant along GEPlugin.LAYER_BUILDINGS And 
GEPlugin.LAYER_BUILDINGS_LOW_RESOLUTION to enable/disable the new 3D data 
introduced in version 7

Are there any known workarounds that produce the similar results?
