Wired-Tether 1.4 is not working on the Droid Incredible #27

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. installed wired-tether.apk
2. launch app
3. allow super user perms
4. start tether

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
connection to the internet via usb in win 7.
instead windows will not see the phone as a broadband network.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Win 7 Froyo 2.2 on Droid Incredible

Please provide any additional information below.
in device manager it either shows up as a conflicted usb controller 
adb shell driver or 'my htc'
