Between V1 & V2, it's mostly tweaking the layout and component placement. If this is your first split keyboard, either version should be suitable. You can find a brief comparison of the differences here, and an in depth write up of the projects evolution here.

It's very funny. ... Long story short, at first I thought it was the first version, then I looked at the layout of the keys and saw that it was the second version.
