LOL style
Avatars would be cool wouldn't they? I really struggle with this sort of thing though, but if you could unlock new avatars while playing that would be cool. We could basically steal the whole icon idea from lol. Don't count on more than 10 avatars though.
Vs - Fight each other Co-op / PvE - Fight environment Creative - Cheat mode
I'm not sure about the settings either. I chose "Starting Ships" where you can pick out a few starting ships using a drop down lololol. "World size" switch between different size types. I'm not sure what kind of limit you want in a game for units. You can go super smash bros and just click on the avatar to switch to cpu or player. You can also go super smash bros to switch the level of AI or handicap level of players which changes starting resources by clicking on the AI or handicap until you get to the level you want, if it goes over 9 it should restart to 0.
I don't know what you mean by invasion mode.
Reasons against more than 5 players.
1) Each player makes the game longer, unless we don't have the resources to support them. 2) This isn't a fast paced party game, and there isn't enough strategy to support long term game, we don't have any real meta. The game is basically collect resources, kill the other person. (Now if we have bonus for support such as defense boosts, faster reaction time, easier to store resources and Research Bonuses or bonuses for sabotage such as resource stealing, hidden spies, traps, or stealing ships that could make the game more fun longer term. But as it stands, the game is too straightfoward and if someone becomes really powerful there is no way to turn the tide.) 3) This was never meant to be an MMO and it could become numerously more complex with every player added. 4) There is no way to specialize, no lanes that someone could be good at, we don't have tanks or healers, or trap wielders. Specializing allows everyone to participate more in game because they have a defined role they can fill or gives them some advantage/disadvantage over another player
Reasons for having more than 5 players (Probably up to 10 players for reasons stated above) 1) Not a lot of games on the market offer larger group lan game play. Could be a selling point. 2) Could have a 5 person team vs another 5 person team to have everyone play together (still run into role issue)

This is a good start
Removed purple, tried to have the icons look sorta different colors. Each team should be a different color...
Quick Game -> Demo mode
I need to know how they are variable.
Also, how is Add AI variable?
Oops you are right about the Add & Remove button, same with the lobby, those do not have variables.
Ideas for team shapes:
Player count should reflect current amount of players in lobby... So my image should be 6/8
Name should be something that can be changed near the top and that will reflect elsewhere in chat and on the player character.
The game should start in VS mode. Players should automatically start on different teams.
Ready Vs Waiting Checks: The game will not start until one or more of these requirements are met A) VS mode is switched to Creative or Campaign mode, then the player can start a solo/co-op game B) Players are on different teams- if both players are on the same team they must change game mode to Creative or Campaign Co-op or add an AI before the game will pass the ready check.
Neither player can check the Ready button until these requirements are met. I suggest we highlight those buttons when they press ready so the players realize why they can not start and offer a message above the Ready button.
"At least two teams are needed to start VS mode"
etc
The Game Modes would be: VS Mode, Creative Mode, Campaign Mode, Survial Mode and well... I guess invasion doesn't make much sense unless you want to play as the Alien AI in campaign mode?
VS Mode - Last player alive wins Creative Mode - Just play around and see what you can build or practice your skills Campaign Mode - This is the story setup for the game Survial Mode - See how many waves of enemies you can survive Invasion Mode - Reverse Campaign mode.
You can adjust how many resources you want in the game with High, Medium and Low. This determines how competitive the game will be.
Max Capacity is the same of ships you can build per game. 200 - 500 idk
Quick Game - Gameplay uses a limited amount of ships (Demo mode) Full Game - Access to all the ships in the game Crazy Game - Have certain types of ships limited by a random amount like only 3 fighters are able to built that game.
Chat will show this games IP to make it easy for others to connect.
