Hello, would it be possible to use parallelThreads when available ?

OVF Tool now can upload disk files to the host in parallel, and download disk files from the host in parallel. OVA is unsupported. Parallelism is limited by the number of CPUs. See the --parallelThreads=N option in the OVF Tool User's Guide for details.

Can you please test this option and let me know some real-world performance results...

I tested that option (using a vmx based image) and found no difference in the upload speed. I also found others that didn't get any performance benefit using that option...
