Seems all click/selectionStart events are used for page flipping. We would really need to select words/phrases. Could you suggest some way?

i'm also really interested. i'd love to find out a way to keep the smooth page turns, but also open/activate the text. i appreciate any ideas and suggestions!

You can use either the Imode or Magic panels. See the wiki for details.

thanks, joseph! sorry for the newbie question, but thank you for your quick help.

ps. do you know of any monocle links with active text "in the wild"? would love to see a model. . .

pps. also, you mentioned that Magic panels seem to be the future for Monocle. do you recommend i try to go that way, then?

All the books on Booki.sh use the IMode panel for links and text selection.

Yes, Magic is reasonably stable right now.
