Windows 10: drop 32-bit support #90

Closed josephsl closed 4 months ago

Stemming from nvaccess/nvda#16304:

Windows 10 is the last version to support 32-bit (x86/ARM) processors. AS NV Access is planning to compiling NVDA as a 64-bit program, prepare the way by dropping support for Windows 10 32-bit from the add-on.

Tentative schedule:

Thanks.

Hi,

Slight change of plans: 32-bit Windows 10 warning will be a one-time event for stable channel users as Windows 10 support will be dropped in 2025 from the add-on anyway (end of support for Windows 10 from the add-on takes precedence over 32-bit systems warning). Also, instalaltion on 32-bit Widows 10 systems will be supported but overall feature development and testing will not just like Windows 10/11 LTSC and Server situation.

Thanks.

Hi,

April 2024 update: no warning message at this time. No support for 32-bit Windows 10 is stil a thing - to be done in northern summer.

Thanks.
