+1 for signed releases.
So I finally convinced myself to buy a Mac Developer Program membership and CloudyTabs will finally be signed for Gatekeeper in the next version (which will be released in the next few days). Thanks for the support guys and sorry it took so long!
Just to add to the conversation, you don't need an Apple-issued certificate to sign your App. If you don't plan on publishing it to the AppStore you can just create your own certificate and sign the app using it. GateKeeper will not bash at your app, unless the user has selected to allow apps only from "Mac App Store", instead of the default "Mac App Store and Identified developers".
Just my 2 cents.
@lsmoura, I'd been wanting to enrol in the Mac Developer program for a while now, so I thought that signing CloudyTabs with an Apple-issued Developer ID would be a good excuse to purchase it. Who knows if Apple will still allow third-party certificates with GateKeeper in future OS versions too – I wouldn't be surprised if they mandate Apple certs in a future update.
It'd be nice if you could sign your releases with your Developer ID for GateKeeper.
