Indicator that a tab is playing audio (speaker icon) #325

Problem Statement

When I'm looking at a lot of tabs (stashed or not), it's very difficult to find the tab that's playing audio. Such as having a YouTube video open and playing music in the background. Typically I "stash" a lot of music videos together as 1 collection and play through the tabs, hand-picking what I want to hear. If something interrupts what I'm doing I go to stop/pause the current playing tab, but I can't easily find it. I can't see which tab is producing audio unless it happens to be a visible tab at the top of the Firefox window.

Preferred Solution(s)

just a simple "speaker" icon to show a tab is playing audio in tab stash. It could be a mute-unmute button as well.

Alternative Solution(s)

Maybe a collection of tabs that are playing audio (dynamically generated), like the unstashed tabs collection.

Thanks for the feature request, I'll keep it in mind!

One thing to note, in case you're not already aware of it: the default settings for Tab Stash will unload hidden tabs if they're inactive for a while. So if you have stashed tabs that are playing music and you leave them alone in the background for a while, they might get unloaded (and stop playing). To avoid this, you might want to turn off the setting to "Automatically unload hidden tabs that haven't been used in a while".

1) I found a mitigation for this in another extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/sound-control/ This extension lets me see a list of tabs playing audio and jump to them. I'm now using it in tandem with tab stash and this works for me for now. The extension is unmaintained I think, but this suits my purposes.

2) Thanks for the tip on the setting to automatically unload tabs. That caught me by surprise the first few songs ;)

I too have the same issue, as I may have multiple media tabs opened at the same making the active tab not as intuitive to find at a glance. I was coming to open an issue but someone seem to have beaten me to it.

If possible, I too would appreciate a speaker icon on the active, playing tab.
