1 year ago Really great article, beautifully written and covering the complex ethical thinking. I tend not to use much mainstream social media because, certainly for the ethical reasons but also I find it's mostly pretty boring. I'm probably out of touch with some things but I'm fine with that. Get most of my info from RSS these days which tends to be better quality content.

…Lately, I’ve been wondering whether I can actually continue supporting Instagram and the company behind it, however passively or at whatever seemingly insignificant scale. And while I was zeroing in on this answer anyway, the events of the last couple of weeks have clearly cemented in my mind that the answer—for me, at least—is an unequivocal “no.”
