add @properties for unplaced words #31

Will be useful for later use in my crossword generator.

If my brain had turned on last night, I would have based this off the 2.0 branch, as this does not use any functionality introduced in the shape masking code.

I just pushed a "mostly" finalized version of the masking branch in PR #26 so just hold up and you can base this off of the master after I merge...
