Adding an open source license for software #3

Hi @joshmaceachern, thanks so much for sharing this software with us. I see you have Creative Commons applied throughout the project, but that doesn't legally protect the software as open source as CC recommends.

We recommend against using Creative Commons licenses for software. Instead, we strongly encourage you to use one of the very good software licenses which are already available. We recommend considering licenses listed as free by the Free Software Foundation and listed as “open source” by the Open Source Initiative.

If you're looking for a quick review of options, check out https://choosealicense.com/licenses/.

TL;DR MIT is a good default since it allows reuse with very few terms. GPL is great if you're passionate about forks remaining open source as well.
