Toolbar version of gmail claims update available, even if update has already been installed #13

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. install update
2. come back later
3. sidebar has 'update available', when clicked, gmail icon reads 'updated'
4. at times an actual update is available and in these cases it reads 
'update'

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Gmail on google desktop sidebar on PC, Vista 32bit

Update Engine is a Mac-only framework. It has nothing to do with Toolbar nor 
Vista. You might find the answer 
to your question at http://www.google.com/support/toolbar/?hl=en
