Thanks for the suggestion (and the drawing).
I'm preferring to avoid manipulating the original iconfont by adding non-google icons. the font released in this repo is the original font Google compiles.
Having said that, I'm heading to support custom font based on this one. I have a WIP to add support in compiling the iconfont and adding support for
stay tuned here:
Hi @jossef can I support you somehow to get these incoming and outgoing icons done?
@guettli Thank you, yes I'm currently stuck here: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/56506104/converting-an-svg-to-fontforges-splineset-format
@jossef I gave this question a bounty of 200 point. Maybe this helps to get more attention.
Thanks @guettli In the meantime, I can offer to design these 2 SVG icons which you can use on top of the font
Wow, sound great. Thank you.
@guettli are these ok?
Thank you for your effort. Somehow looks like a dildo.
I thought about this again. We could solve it on the current level (your material iconfont).
But this does not solve the overall situation.
I would like to have a symbol on the world-wide level. This would mean in the unicode-system.
Messages get displayed in several thousand systems. And it would be very great if there is a clear symbol which everybody understands to see immediately if something is incoming or outgoing.
What do you think?
@jossef was the answer here useful? https://stackoverflow.com/a/63869654/633961 should I give the bounty?
... looks like a dildo
🤣

I think the context is needed. Incoming and outgoing of what? network packets? mail messages?
... should I give the bounty
I'll test it now and let you know
@guettli I've marked this as answered - will automatically give him the bounty
I would like to have nice incoming/outgoing icons.
I sketched something:
It is like a bouncing ball: It comes in. Touches the ground, and bounces up (and out) again.
The green boxes are the boarders of the two icons.
I think a general icons (incoming, outgoing) make more sense than concrete "call made" and "call received" icons.
This sketch is in the public domain and can be used or modified any way you like (Thomas Güttler)

What do you think?
Would you accept such an icon? I could create it, if there is a chance that it gets accepted.
