I fully support Tor. There simply isn't anything like it (even this setup won't be possible without it). However I do believe this project does have it's place. If someone is willing to use Tor all the time, by all means. But as long as there's demand for Firefox with privacy related extensions, I believe this is very futile. There are a few reasons why many prefer a 'regular' browser over tor. 1: speed: It's just Firefox, it's not slowed down by the onion proxies. 2: Ad blocking / tracking: uBlock Origin, ClearURLs are installed. Yes you can install extensions on Tor but that changes the fingerprint, that's not recommended if you want to use Tor as a complete privacy solution. (I recommend PF as the regular browser and Vanilla Tor for a more privacy) 3: Some sites block Tor exit nodes and / or you have to fill even more captcha (F u Google). 4: Popular media leads many to believe Tor is for shady hackers and criminals not the only tool of liberty that it is in our increasing surveilled world.

You can use the Tor browser without the Tor network - much safer than using vanilla Firefox. Google has 'privacy backdoors' everywhere. They will disable your plugin settings at will.

SET TOR_SKIP_LAUNCH=1 SET TOR_TRANSPROXY=1

'F u Google!' - I subscribe to that!
