Conclusion: C programming on a Mac is terrible: no gcc
, readline
, libc
basic functions are not included or not POSIX compliant. No good package manager, no good terminal emulator and the keyboard layout sucks too :(
Mac Porting is further discussed in this issue: #9
things todo:
getprompt
:gethostname(hostname, HOST_NAME_MAX);
results in make error "‘HOST_NAME_MAX’ undeclared". The POSIX specification doesn't seem to be very clear here. Changing to "_POSIX_HOST_NAME_MAX" compiles on Mac.homebrew
(http://brew.sh/): `brew install readline --> hisotry not working
